CREATIVE OVERVIEW : BYRON BAY PALMHOUSE BUNGALOW : SUSTAINABLE ARCHITECT BYRON BAY
WINNER – RAIA Award “Residential Architecture: Best Affordable Housing Project” 2015.
WINNER – Home Beautiful Magazine “Best Renovation of the Year” 2016.
This multi-award winning Byron Bay Palmhouse Bungalow encapsulates the best of Byron Bay coastal living with its clean lines and indoor-outdoor spaces. The project called for the renovation of the existing modest brick home into the luxury 4 bedroom Palmhouse including pool and landscape design, and the transformation of a “sub-station green” steel industrial shed into a designer Bungalow. The project allowed us to work creatively with the clients on the design of the exteriors, interiors, custom details and built-in joinery. The result is a complete transformation of the existing buildings and a secondary dwelling which doubles as both guest accommodation and a giant entertaining space. The living spaces and kitchens of both the Palmhouse and the Bungalow are lined with white timber VJ boards and oak floors, adding to the relaxed coastal feel.
Client Testimonial: “Ed delivered the exact space our growing family needed – not only structurally but with the perfect aesthetic. Our new space has changed the mood of everyone in the house. We no longer feel boxed in and it’s made everyone feel more relaxed.” Sally Vardy
